Organic Compost Delivery; $180 for 3 Cubic Yards delivered.

I contacted Mike (the owner) in early October 2024 and he explained the process after I completed the bid on his website. My bid for 3176 s.f. of demo., debris removal, rototilling, composting, leveling and sod installation was about $9,300 (including the sod).

The hard work of preparing the backyard for sod began on Nov 4th, 2024 with 3 to 4 workers and they finished just as the sod was being delivered at noon on Nov 7th, 2024.

They did an excellent job of tearing off the existing dead grass, removing it by truck, and rototilling the yard multiple times to get it prepped for the new sod. I was impressed with the work Cody did on the rototiller, as it was a back breaking job.

I had removed most of the large roots before the crew arrived, but there was still some sneaky large roots several inches below the surface that I missed. As Mike had to get his crew to remove them, he did charge me extra for this service.

One thing I think should be mentioned to a prospective customer is the demo of the yard is NOT part of the bid, because there is no way for Mike to know before hand that the yard has excess rocks or roots that slows his crews down, from which he has to charge a reasonable fee. The demo charges, the extra 5 tons of debris removal, 5% more sod than bid, and the extra man power charges for pulling roots, amounted to an extra $3700 for a final figure of $13,000. After you see the work the workers preform the costs are not unreasonable!!

All in all, I am very happy with their work. One week has passed and the yard is looking great!!

We have battled with horrible soil conditions in our backyard since moving into our home. While we experienced mixed results with tilling the soil and planting seeds ourselves, we were never able to achieve the results we wanted. Part of the problem was the soil and the five erratic sprinkler zones spread throughout the backyard. We chose Mike because of his easy to use "create bid" function on his website and his attention to detail, including his recommendation to add compost to our soil. While we had five zones that functioned, Mike was able to cut out three zones, but still get the same water coverage. Not only does this save water, but also helps our water bill.

We were also perplexed as to why two sections of our lawn would always die prior to Mike's intervention. We pointed this out to Mike and he and his crew quickly discovered a cement walkway and bomb shelter underneath the sections of lawn that would always die. Mike and his crew worked quickly to excavate portions of the bomb shelter and the walkway ensuring that we would not experience the same inconsistent lawn results again.

Mike and his crew transformed our backyard in less than two days. We are more than satisfied with the results. We highly recommend Mike and his crew to anyone interested in establishing a new lawn.

I ordered compost for my vegetable garden, and Mike was absolutely awesome to deal with. Flexible about delivery day, thoroughly friendly and nice, even maneuvering his big truck down my narrow driveway to deposit the compost exactly where I needed it. Thoroughly great customer experience, and I will be buying from him again next year, for sure!
